A lot has happened in the past year! Karen is now the Director of Music Ministries at Central United Methodist Church in Albuquerque, NM. In addition to this big life change, she has had several new works published by Morningstar Music ("Great Creator" and "Light of the World") and Galaxy Music ("O Pulse of My Heart") and "The Parting Glass.") She will try not to move across the country this year so that she can stay on top of updates.

Looking forward to the unveiling of several of my new choral works!

The Chancel Choir at First United Methodist of Trussville in Trussville, AL has just begun rehearsals of What Wondrous Love: Reflections on the Seven Last Words. This setting for SATB choir, tenor and baritone soloists, and string quintet is comprised of all texts and tunes from ehe Sacred Harp tradition and will be presented on Good Friday at 6:30 pm at FUMC Trussville.

The Fine Arts Series at Littleton United Methodist Church in Littleton, CO will be premiering a new commissioned work, "Light of the World," during the Easter season this year. I was very pleased to work on this piece for the choir and wish them the best! Many thanks to David Kates for making this happen.

Be on the lookout for "Rivers of Living Water," for SATB choir, violin, flute, hand drum, and piano, soon to be offered through Morningstar Music Publishers!

New choral work available from Morningstar Music! Walk in Light, for SAB chorus, piano, and violin. "A soothing anthem that exemplifies its message of peace. The violin (with oboe and clarinet substitutes) is reserved the middle of the piece and carries the DIVINUM MYSTERIUM tune, later echoed by the choir. Karen Marrolli's folk-like original music weaves seamlessly with the ancient melody before coming to a delicate close."

After having experienced some transitions of her own, Karen is doing her first singer-songwriter event in the Birmingham area in collaboration with fellow musician Andrew Harbison. "Winds of Change," a concert of original songs about transitions and faith, will be a "Song Swap" between the two artists at 3pm CDT on Sunday, April 17 at the First United Methodist Church in Trussville, AL.

Proud to be featured on the Amused Now blog, a site the helps to promote independent artists of various genres. I sat down and talked to Cynthia Kahn, Amused Now founder, about my new EP Twilight Songs, what it's like to be a cross-genre musician, and whether or not I ever sleep. Check out the video and her beautiful write-up at Amused Now.
